TeleBeam is a unique lightweight structural system specifically designed for loft conversions.
TeleBeams are incredibly simple: they are structural telescopic beams manufactured from strong but lightweight aluminium, which work alongside the trusses or rafters, providing both support for the new floor load and the existing roof loads. Consequently, the system provides an extremely quick, easy and cost-effective way of converting a roof space.
TeleBeam has been designed primarily for the retrospective conversion of existing modern roof trusses to provide habitable accommodation in the roof space. However, the system can also be adapted for use in traditional ‘cut roofs’ where it may be difficult to provide adequate support.
British engineering
The TeleBeam loft conversion and flooring system was invented and developed in the UK by Digby Rowsell, the managing director of this family-run business.
To promote British engineering, TeleBeam is proud of the BOAL UK extrusion and fabrication at their premises in Wiltshire. Our chosen production process and use of aluminium means that we minimise energy consumption and reuse natural resources in partnership with BOAL through their environment, social and governance strategy.
We use recycled aluminium collected from BOAL’s subsidiaries — this is recycled and reused, thus minimising our carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption. We are also helping the environment by recycling aluminium, which costs only 10 per cent of the energy required to produce new aluminium.
TeleBeam has BBA Accreditation for National Building Regulation compliance. Furthermore, structural calculations are provided for the TeleBeam system.

A quick, easy and cost-effective installation
When TeleBeams are used there is no need for timber infill in webs of beams, timber floor joists or mounting of hangers. There is also minimal time that the roof is left open to the elements.
The TeleBeams can be installed from one side only if required. Our product is far less invasive than using steel beams, and this results in a greater freedom of stair design and location.
Our patented, innovative and bespoke product is incredibly user friendly and only basic carpentry skills are required for a non-invasive and quick installation. This has a positive impact regarding improved Health and Safety and the welfare of staff on site. What's more, our system is very quick to install, saving expensive labour time and costs.
No crane hire is required for lifting of heavy steel beams as the TeleBeams are much lighter and can be manhandled.
We also deliver direct to the site on our own small drop-side trucks for ease of access and manual off-loading.
