When award-nominated architect Jeremy Foster sought to renovate his Victorian home in Islington, London, he wanted more than a stylish update — he envisioned a sustainable family home designed to last.
The Green House, a mid-terrace property from 1870, underwent a stunning transformation. The ground floor was extended to include a naturally ventilated kitchen-diner with garden views, while a new second floor added a bedroom, an en suite, a home office and a laundry room. Retaining the original Victorian façades, the project focused on reducing the home’s carbon footprint with eco-friendly materials.
Ted Todd was Jeremy’s first choice. After reviewing samples, he selected Hollington Wide Plank from their new Classic Futures® collection. This flooring, made from FSC-certified European oak, features warm tones, beautiful grain detail and a transparent matt lacquer finish that protects the wood while showcasing its natural beauty. Durable and recyclable, Hollington was used throughout, including the staircase, creating a seamless, timeless look.
