Simon Rix is a professional planning consultant, who began his career working in local government in the 1990s. He was a council officer and later an elected councillor, so he knows how the planning system works from both sides. He went on to set up Planix.UK Planning Consultants Ltd., a consultancy company that advises self builders, home extenders and those taking on small to medium-sized building projects on planning permission.
Michael, one of the UK’s leading property experts, is Homebuilding & Renovating's Director of Content, Vice Chair of self build industry body the National Custom and Self Build Association, presenter of multiple property TV shows, and author of Renovating for Profit. He is a regular speaker at Homebuilding & Renovating Shows across the country.
He also runs an architectural and interior design practice, and has undertaken over 50 building projects. What's more, he has self built twice and renovated his own homes.
