The tool has sold out in the UK after a promo video of how to use it for DIY tasks racked up millions of hits on social media
A DIY gadget that attaches to a person's lower leg has sold out in the UK after millions of people spotted the device on social media.
The Knee Seat by German construction material producers Probst garnered millions of hits on YouTube and other social media apps after a promo video showing how to use it when kneeling down to do a task was posted.
We take a look at the curious contraption and why people are rushing to grab one to renovate their house.
Reduces pain caused by stress positions
The Knee Seat works by acting as an ergonomic support for both the knee and ankle that offers back, shoulder, and neck relief while kneeling or sitting. The idea is that it stops any pain caused by being in a stress position for too long – something that can be frequent during DIY work.
It is made from lightweight aluminum tubing and fitted with an extra thick knee pad and hooks. It can also support up to 120 kg (256 lbs) of weight.
Knee Seat encourages DIYers to use good posture
With padded knee covers the Knee Seat means you can bend down without placing strain on your knee caps. The padded seat to the back of the device also gives a soft surface to rest your gluteal muscles while positioning the hip and ankle at a comfortable angle to support the back, shoulders and neck.
The knee seat straps to the back of the knee and the front of the lower legs to keep it securely in place while working.

When will the Knee Seat be back in stock?
The Probst Knee Seat is currently out of stock in the UK due to high demand although suppliers Probst have stated new stock should be available from the middle of June.
There are alternatives out there on Amazon however, including this similarknee seat by Donubiiu and this knee seat from MoCulot. You can buy two knee seat equivalents by Panruia on Amazon too.
