How Apple Vision Pro might be a gamechanger for self builders
Apple's latest technology is available to homebuilders and renovators from July 12 and it could change how we design our homes
Apple Vision Pro is coming soon to the UK and it could change how self builders and renovators create their dream homes.
The Apple Vision Pro allows users to immerse themselves in their designs in virtual reality, helping them to visualise their ideas and make alterations in seconds.
The new technology could help revolutionise the process behind self building and/or renovating your house. Here we take a look at how it works.
How can Apple Vision Pro help with designs?
Apple Vision Pro claims to give accurate measurements with object recognition to help you assess your home for renovation.
The Apple Vision Pro can create 3D models via a 'user-controlled input system' where you can reach out and virtually remove or create features for your home using a virtual panel that appears in front of you.
This combines the technology of your computer and augmented reality technology allowing you to run multiple apps at the same time in both 2D and 3D meaning whilst scrolling a screen as you would in real life you can simultaneously see how your designs would look in whatever room you are in.
After designs are completed, plans can be shared with architects, builders or partners and any products or tools needed to complete jobs can be added to wish lists to help estimate your home renovation costs.

What apps are there available for self building/renovations?
There is a home design app for pretty much anything and there is an app for pretty much any housing project you have in mind that you can use with the Apple Vision Pro.
Lowe's has launched Lowe's Style StudioTM that specifically targets kitchen designs using the Apple Vision Pro, using 80 billion preset styles designed by a range of professional designers.
Planner 5D can be used for more general interior designs in your home focusing on furnishing rooms in an immersive spatial experience.
Whilst Live Home 3D can help you design a home from scratch by either starting from a blank canvas or importing an existing plan that you may already have and then editing it to suit your desires by controlling every aspect of your self build.
Although, some apps can be as simple as helping you with simple measurements such as the Measure Your Space app that uses ARKit and the LiDAR Scanner on your iPhone to give precise room measurements.
How can you get an Apple Vision Pro in the UK?
