Using pink bathroom ideas is a great way to inject individual style and a slightly frivolous feel into your bathroom design scheme.
Pink is a fantastic shade to work with and comes in so many variations, meaning that whether it is a sweet, candyfloss-inspired look you are after or a more sophisticated dusty rose scheme, there will be something out there to tie in with your ideas.
We've pulled together some of the most beautiful pink bathroom designs around to ensure that we give you plenty of inspiration for the best ways to incorporate this super-versatile shade.
Will pink bathroom ideas quickly look dated?
Used in the right way there is absolutely no reason why a pink bathroom should look dated any time soon. While it is easy to think of pink as a shade that screams 'look at me' and is rather extroverted, it can actually work just as well for those after bathroom colour ideas that are largely neutral – plus it pairs brilliantly with a huge number of other colours.
The key lies in assessing your particular space, including factors like its size and whether it is modern ideas you are looking for, or those with a more classic look.
If you are afraid of pink being too overwhelming, it is easy to find ways to include the colour subtly and pairing it with earthy shades means it will be calming and easy to live with – in fact, pink is a great shade for boosting a sense of wellbeing, something that is at the forefront of bathroom design right now.
“There were two camps in interiors last year: the Dopamine Decorators and the Quiet Luxury lovers, with both trends underpinned with creating a home that will enhance mental wellbeing," says interiors expert Lucy Mather from online homeware retailer Arighi Bianchi.
1. Find classic ways to introduce pink
Introducing colour by using bathroom wall panelling ideas is a great solution for those who are keen for a more subtle finish, rather than an all-over wash of colour.
Not only does wall panelling come in all kinds of designs to suit both modern and traditional bathrooms alike, but it can also serve a practical purpose – as in this bathroom where it has provided a handy shelf.
The soft pink shade of the panelling has also been used for the skirting and looks perfect combined with the black and white finishes used elsewhere – in particular the black and chrome towel warmer from Bathroom Mountain.
2. Combine pink metro tiles with industrial fittings
If you are after bathroom tiling ideas to warm up your space, look no further. Metro wall tiles, or rectangular tiles laid in a brickwork pattern, seem to have been popular forever. They look great in all kinds of bathroom design schemes but tend to work particularly well with industrial-style fittings.
Here, the warm-toned Lexi Pink tiles from Porcelain Superstore, give an almost variegated look to the walls which offsets the sleeker lines of the basin and shower enclosure perfectly.
3. Go all-out and match your bathroom suite to your walls
If you are someone who enjoys a uniform, cohesive look when it comes to your interiors, this idea is likely to appeal to you.
What makes this all the easier when it comes to bathrooms is the fact that there has been a recent resurgence in the availability of coloured bathroom suites. Opting for a shade of pink that matches your basin, toilet and bath will result in a real statement space.
"Coloured sanitaryware has made a firm comeback and is great for injecting personality into what can often be a clinical space," says Phil Etherden, managing director at The Albion Bath Co. "We are seeing a huge increase in interest for coloured baths and bathroom furniture from our customers, and often in luxuriously bold shades."
The high-level WC and retro-style pedestal basin here, in Confetti Pink, from Burlington, would be perfect for anyone after traditional bathroom ideas – plus they look perfect against the soft pink walls and full-height black basin backsplash.
Phil Etherden is managing director of The Albion Bath Co. who specialise in creating high-quality bath tubs that combine the qualities of cast iron without its drawbacks.
4. Pair pink with marble for a luxe look
There is something in the warm creamy tones of marble finishes that just works so well with pink. Whether you are going for marble-look bathroom floor tiles, or plan on using marble for your bathroom splashback ideas, incorporating some pink elements with them will work well.
Here, Tapiz Pink matt ceramic wall tiles from Tile Mountain have been used for the walls and the built-in bath surround and look perfect next to the marble floor choice.
In fact, this pale shade of pink is a particularly good one in the bathroom, for several reasons.
"The lighter shade of pink – blush – is a perfect way of subtly implementing the colour into your bathroom without it being too overwhelming or powerful," advise the design experts at Walls and Floors. "The pastel shade complements most bathroom accessories and brings a sense of calm and relaxation to the space. It creates a spa like oasis for after those long hard days."
5. Be creative with colour combos
Pink and green are a perfect colour combination and work fantastically well in bathrooms, where the connotations of nature brought about by the green help to ground the more playful, whimsical feel that pink brings with it.
In this space, a two-tone approach has been taken to the colour scheme, using Benajmin Moore's Pink Punch paint. This is actually a great idea for those on the hunt for small bathroom ideas as the visual interest that it creates help to distract the eye from the more compact proportions of a space.
6. Use warmer shades of pink for a cosy bathroom
Pink is such a versatile shade and as such it can be used to create a huge range of moods and looks.
In the bathroom, a warm, cosseted feel can be really welcome, lending a sense of the space being a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Opt for shades of pink with brown, terracotta and coral undertones to create a cosier look.
Here, Original Style's Artworks tiles, in Duchy Pink, have been used. They are designed to bring a warm, vintage rose appeal and would be perfect for anyone after vintage bathroom ideas.
7. Turn your bath into a fun feature
Pink is the perfect shade for anyone hoping to inject a lively, youthful and fun feel through their bathroom colour scheme.
To achieve the look, bring together several different shades of pink that complement one another well and include plenty of varying textures and patterns too.
In this playful, yet elegant, bathroom the Trident Shower Bath in pink, from The Albion Bath Co. has been combined with a wall of eye-catching patterned wall tiles and a pastel pink shower curtain.
8. Play with colour and pattern
Pink looks great combined with so many different colours which means it is an easy shade to weave into a décor scheme that includes plenty of pattern. Whether you choose smart stripes or take a more fanciful approach, the options are pretty much limitless.
"People seem to be experimenting more with pattern and colour again in the bathroom which is great to see as the results can be really stunning," points out Phil Etherden when talking about the latest bathroom trends.
In this calming and fun bathroom scheme, the matt pink basin, from Crosswater, takes centre stage, while the backdrop of plain pale blue tiles and those featuring an abstract sunset-on-the-beach inspired design, add a restful feel to the space.
9. Keep things fresh and airy with pale shades
Pale shades of pink are ideal for creating an airy, calm and breezy feel in pretty much any space – and for those after ensuite bathroom ideas, where a fresh clean look is perfect, they work particularly well.
Consider combining soft, barely-there pinks with white for a super restorative, mood-boosting space. Here, the Harbour Symmetry Pink Wall Hung Vanity Unit with Brushed Brass Frame, from Tap Warehouse, has been paired with white rectangular tiles fitted in an on-trend herringbone pattern.
Black also works really well with pink. "If you’re thinking of going monochrome in your bathroom redesign, consider implementing a third and final shade to really offset the black and white and create intrigue in your space," say the design experts at Walls and Floors. "Our favourite is pink, as we think it complements black and white schemes gorgeously to create a chic and sophisticated feel throughout the room."
10. Don't be afraid to be a little daring
If there is one room in the house where you can get away with being a little brave when it comes to your decorating ideas, it has to be the bathroom. This is a space meant for you (as opposed to more 'public' living spaces) and as such, don't be scared to spread your creative wings a little.
Sanitaryware need not be plain and simple – in fact, opting for something a little more eye-catching for your basin or bath is a great way to create a focal point and express yourself.
The Botanical Pink washbasin from Retrobad manages to be elegant and fun at the same time.
11. Give a classic bath a modern pink makeover
The rolltop bath never seems to go out of fashion, lending an elegant, classic look to the bathroom. However, just because it has been around since the 1800s, there is no reason why this style of bath can't fit in with more modern bathroom ideas – including those involving giving it a wash of colour.
The Milano Legend Traditional Double-Ended Freestanding Slipper Bath, from Big Bathroom Shop, is shown here in Rose Petal Pink. The brushed gold feet work really well with this shade.
12. Tie retro finishes in with pastel pink
The retro look is big news right now, with bathroom design being no exception.
“There has been a lot of talk about a retro revival in interiors, in particular a lean towards 1970s-inspired looks," says Lucy Maher. "Nostalgia really comes to the fore in times of wider cultural uncertainty, and you can certainly see why consumers may be hankering after eras gone by."
Pink seems to go particularly well with retro forms and designs at the same time as adding a modern feel.
"Perfect for adding just a hint of colour to an otherwise neutral spa-like scheme, a palette of softer tones will add a timeless elegance to a bathroom," says Phil Etherden. "Perfect for unwinding and relaxing in, these delicate shades never go out of style."

13. Bring you bathroom walls to life with pink wallpaper
If you've ever wondered can you use wallpaper in a bathroom, then now just might be the time to take the plunge. It is the perfect way to introduce colour and pattern and, in some cases, can be ordered in bespoke designs too. Even better, there are now companies offering removable wallpaper that comes in a 'peel-and-stick' format, meaning no messy wallpaper paste.
This romantic and joyful wallpaper is from Wallsauce.com and is their Bright Pink Roses mural.
FAQs
Should I use a specialist pink bathroom paint?
You don't have to use a paint specifically for bathrooms to finish off your walls in this space – in many cases, an acrylic eggshell will be just fine if you want to give your walls a pink makeover. This type of paint is easier to wipe down that a flat emulsion, although it does have a slight sheen to it.
That said, it is definitely worth considering a mould- and mildew-resistant paint. Most use biocide technology to resist fungal growth. Something like Dulux's Easycare Bathroom Soft Sheen Emulsion Paint For Walls And Ceilings, available from Amazon would be perfect.
What other ways can I introduce colour other than on the walls?
If you feel more comfortable with neutral or all-white walls, there are plenty of other ways to inject some pops of pink colour into your space.
Your bathroom flooring ideas, for example, are a brilliant way to bring some exciting shades in — whether you go for tiles or something a little more alternative such as rubber (which comes in a really wide range of shades and patterns).
Coloured sanitaryware is another option, as is your choice of brassware. Alternatively, even just selecting bathroom accessories in some beautiful shades of pink can make all the difference – from towels to toothbrush holders and, of course, light fittings, all are available in a massive range of hues.
Unless you plan on going full-on pink for every inch of your bathroom, you will probably be wondering which other colours pair well with pink.
Because there are so many different shades of pink, this is actually a colour that can be successfully paired with many other hues. That said, there are certain colours that really are a match made in heaven with pink (particularly grey bathroom ideas). Our top five shades to use alongside pink are:
- Grey
- Gold
- Navy blue
- Botanical and sage greens
- Black (and white)
