A step-by-step guide to fitting a raised loft floor
Now you have all your tools assembled, it's time to install your new raised floor. Follow these 3 simple steps to unlock extra storage space in no time:
Step 1: secure the Loft Legs: Using the pre-formed slots secure the Loft Legs into your ceiling joists with screws. Position them at widths to suit the chipboard panels, with a maximum recommended distance of 610mm between Loft Leg centres. If you're using Loft Leg XL with 2.4m x 0.6m sheets, place them at 300mm intervals on the first and last truss of the storage deck.
Step 2: lay out blanket insulation: Arrange your blanket insulation, making small vertical slits to allow for a better fit around the Loft Legs.
Step 3: install the boards: Place the chipboard or OSB panels on the Loft Legs and screw through the panels into the top platform of the legs to secure them into place.eg to secure them into place.
